Peter Westbrook is the founding chairman of the World Music Committee of the National Flute Association. He holds a Ph.D. in musicology, has studied jazz theory and performance with Lionel Grigson, Gary Peacock and Ali Ryerson, and Indian classical flute with Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. He performs and lectures extensively throughout the USA, Europe and India, and his articles have appeared in such journals as Down Beat, Flutist Quarterly, Cadence and jazzreview.com. Dr. Westbrook is the author of Divine Harmony: The Life and Teaching of Pythagoras, and the forthcoming Music, Psyche, Cosmos.
